Commonly Asked Questions

1) How much does the wood cost?

         It depends on the wood, size, and quantity. If you 

      buy in bulk we give a discount. If you are

      interested and have your own dimensions please   

      email and we can send you a quote! 

2) Can I just come and take a look?

  • Absolutely. We actually encourage it and somewhat require it prior to purchasing. But it is by appointment only.

3) Do you finish the wood?

  • We do not seal the wood; We sell all of our products as is. 

4) Do you make things with your wood?

  • Not currently

5) Do you take credit?

    No, currently only check, cash, PayPal, or Venmo.

6) What are your sizes?

  • They vary, best thing to do is look at the "Our Current Supply" page or email us with your dimensions and we can look in our inventory.

7) Is there lead paint on the wood?

    Rarely, but it is a possibility. We always

     recommend a test before buying, if it is a concern to

     you.

8) Do I need to give a down-

    payment if I want the wood set

    aside?

     Yes, we ask for a 20% down-payment

       because we do not want to cut, arrange, and

       clean the wood if a buyer decides to back out

       last minute.

9) Where are you located?

10) Where are the barns from? 

       Various locations. Take a look at our "History

       of Our Barns" page! 

11) Are there bugs in the wood?

     Should I be concerned or do

     anything?

      We always recommend that if it's a

        concern, then you should have it kiln dried

        or treated with a powdered chemical. All of which

        we do not do. 

12) Do you deliver? 

       Yes, for a fee, depending on your location

13) Do you install?

       No, but we do have references that do.

14) Would you purchase wood?

      Yes.

15) Would you be interested in

      taking down my barn?

        Absolutely!

16) What is a square foot, linear  

      foot, and board foot?

       Square foot: width of board divided by 12" (1        foot) multiplied by length of the board.

       Ex: 6" wide by 4' long board is 2sq ft.

            6"/12" = .5 x 4' = 2 sq ft 

          

       Linear foot: feet in length

       Ex: 4 foot long board is 4 linear feet

       Board foot: 

           width in inches x length in feet x thickness in

        inches divided by 12

           - or -

        width in inches x length in inches x thickness in          inches divided by 144

17) Can you cut the wood to size?

     Yes, as long as you are taking the entire 

       piece. 

18) Should I use a Flammable- fire

     spray?

      If it is going into a business or above the 

      fireplace.
